japanese cemetery park​
The purpose of this project is to inform Singaporeans that such a place exists. The people who are buried here are the Japanese from the post-war Japanese occupation. These are the people who massacred our ancestors, our nemesis. However, i have a different perspective. If it was not for the Japanese occupation, Singapore would not be in this state today. Through the difficult times, the war had made Singaporeans more united and passionate about what they cherish. Like the old saying, ‘No Pain No Gain’. Not everything about the Japanese occupation was a bad experience, rather it made us more experienced in never repeating the same mistake ever again. It has taught us to fend for ourselves. Hence, i want everyone to always remember them be it for the worse or better.​
A memorial to the war dead said to be intended as a representation of the Syonan Chureito that was erected during the occupation at Bukit Batok.
